Day Trip

I had the day off on the 24th of July (you gotta love paid holidays).
So natuarally I decided that something exciting should happen. So I sleep in a little then went out to lunch with my Mom and Gram Gram. It was really nice to sit and chat with my ladies. Then we packed up the car and headed out to Blacksmith Fork Canyon! We were thinking about an impromtu camp out, but it was a very busy weekend, and there was nothing available. So we decided to just hang out that day at this picnic area. It was right next to the river and we did some fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. Yes I said snorkeling...pictures to follow.
Here I am standing in a river. It was fReEzInG, but quite refreshing.
Here is Ryan standing in a river. He is about to do a trick, the name of which escapes me, but it was very entertaining. This one was fairly successful, compaired to his second atempt in which he torn open some old wounds and added some new fresh ones. Very exciting!

Here is where the afore mentioned snorkeling comes in. My dad thought that it would be fun to see what was under the water. So he brought along his snorkel gear. Here he is trying to get used to the water. It was really cold.
He never really got used to it....he kept his torso above water as much as he could. He found a spinner and called dibs, but he just couldn't bring himself to go under to get it. So there it will remain until another snorkeler comes along to claim it.

Here is a picture of the river. It was really a nice place to hang out.
Mom and Dad. Aren't they just so cute!
Here is the beautiful sunset on the way back. It was way better in real life, but stilll worth seeing in a picture, I think.

Fireworks and the game of 'What Bean?'

Well we went to the Weber State Fireworks for the 24th of July. They were great as always, we had Amazing seats (Thank you Sarah!). Not much to report besides the awesome game of 'What Bean?'

Let me take a moment here to explain the game of 'What Bean?' It is a little game that Syd and I invented. We found some 'Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean' (from Harry Potter), and tried it out on some friends the night before. The game was a huge success so we decided to play it with the family.

Here are the rules:
1- Pass around the bag of beans (Bertie Botts)
2- Everyone picks a bean at random.
3- On the count of 3 everyone eats.
The object of the game is to get one of the good beans (i.e. grape, cinnamon, cherry, tutti frutti) and not one of the bad beans (i.e. pickle, sausage, ear wax, rotten egg, vomit).

It is a great game!

Feel free to try this out with your friends and loved ones. The Jelly Beans can be found at Toys R Us (don't ask me how I found this out).

Anyway here is Kaylee and I hanging out before the big show.

Here is a picture with the Roommates and Kaylee. She was having ever so much fun with all this attention.

This is our silly picture.

Harry Potter Mania

Ok many of you know that the new Harry Potter movie just recently came out (If you didn't know I am going to have to ask what rock you have been living under, and why, then judge you with my eyes). I also think that it is needless to say that I have been really excited about it, since I have an entire post deticated to this Harry Potter Mania. I don't know about anyone else, but I have just been really excited for this movie, more excited about this one than any other. An example, when I saw the first preview, a friend of mine started talking to me and I told her very kindly that if she kept on talking I might punch her in the face(excessive right?). Anyway I have just been so looking forward to this one, I loved the sixth book, and I knew I would just love the movie. Luckily I have a couple of friends who were just as excited as me and so begins the Harry Potter Mania.
Here is Sydney and I preparing for the movie. We were going to re-read all of the books up to 6, but we had that brainwave a week or two before the movie. We didn't really have time.
So instead we just read the 6th one. Which was just as good as I remembered it. Then since these things can not wait just a few hours, we went to the midnight showing of the movie at the gateway. It was very exciting. We all had on the appropriate Harry Potter atire, and we went early to watch all the crazy's (I don't want to admit it, it is done with the upmost reluctance, but we may have been some of them).
This lady brought her owl to the before festivities. I don't really understand why she wasn't in the picture cause she was dressed as Harry Potter, but she hid behind Syd (a shrug of the shoulders). I would also like to point out the fact that Syd and Danie are holding hands. This is because they were TERRIFIED! They were so dang afraid of that thing, I didn't really understand it. I thought it was cute, I kind of wanted to hold it and pet it.
We had some Harry Potter snacks. These are the droobles that we ate while we played Harry Potter Uno.
This is us waiting in a metaphoric line, we had assigned seats so we didn't have to worry about it, so we just sat around outside the theater until we could go in.
This is Syd, she kept saying she was having hair problems. I didn't think so, but she couldn't get over it. So I documented it with a photo. Then put it on my blog to embarrass her.
Here is Dange texting away.

Danie and Syd
Me and DANGER!
Then here we are in the theater right before the big showing.
So we watched it and it was AMAZING!!!
I really liked it. I promise I won't give anything away.
This is all I will say:
Funny, Sad, Funny, Exciting, Funny, Scary,
GGGGGRRRREEEEAAAT(said like the tiger)!!!
I highly recomend.
Two thumbs way up!
