I went to the BRANDI CARLILE concert last night and may I just say that it was INCREDIBLE!

I must start by saying that she is my FAVORITE singer. Top favorite, this is how much I like her. The top five most listened to song on my iTunes are from Brandi Carlile. The rest of her songs are in my top 50. Melissa (my roomie) and I went together. It was at The State Room in Salt Lake. If you have ever been there it is a pretty small venue, there were like 300 people there and that was a sold out concert, so pretty small. The good thing about pretty small is that you are right there.

It was AMAZING! You know how sometimes you go to a concert and you are kind of disappointed cause they didn't sound as good as the CD. Not the case here, my friends, she was ten times better than the CD. I just want like a mini Brandi that I can carry around with me and just sings whatever song I want her to sing. I guess that is why we have IPOD's. It was great, I had chills most of the time and I wanted it to go on forever and ever.

She sang this song called 'Oh Dear' it is going to be on her new album (the link that I put here, I found it on You Tube and it is from the concert that I went to. If you would like to watch). It was so good! ALSO she sang a song completely unplugged called 'Dying Day' (another link from the concert). It was awesome!

Here is a little Sorry that the video's are not so great. I would have recorded my own videos, BUT like a fool I followed the rule on my ticket that said not to bring my camera. Every other concert goer didn't and got lots of great pictures. That is what I get for following the rules.

Anyway After the concert Melissa and I were like one of the first people out of the concert. This you will not believe, but we ran into DAVID ARCHULETTA. You heard me David Archuletta. He was standing like 3 feet from me. Talking to people that worked there and then walked right out. I pulled out my phone in time to take a picture of the back of his head. Again, would have been nice to be a rule breaker and have a camera with me. So that was weird and cool.

Then Melissa and I bought Brandi shirts and we were standing around hoping that Brandi would come out and I saw that I was standing right next to Kerri Cronk of the Fox 13 Morning News, and she smiled at me and I smiled back it was also a weird cool situation. I was standing next to her for like 20 minutes.

THEN, you just wait there is more, we got to MEET BRANDI CARLILE!
She signed my shirt. I got a couple of crappy pictures on my phone, again why couldn't I rebel and bring a dang camera. Then I got a side hug from her, and I told her in a high, breathless voice something like 'I think you are amazing'. She said something like 'Thanks'. That is pretty much it, but I have to say that it was a really great day. I don't want to say the greatest day ever, even though that night I kept saying 'This is the greatest day of my life' over an over again, all night long. I feel like I might have just been caught in the moment just a bit, cause I am pretty sure that I have had greater moments. BUT that one was pretty up there on the great moments scale.

Anyway there is my night. Not to sound like a broken record but,

Grass Décor

So I got this idea from a friend to have real live grass as a decor for Springtime. So I tried it and it is oh so cute. Also it is oh so easy.
And it looks like this:

I made 3 of them and put them on our mantle..... I would love to show how that looks, but I forgot to take a picture before I uprooted one of the buckets and started over for a photo by photo how to (see below).

Anyway, it is really fun for a Easter and/or Spring decoration. If you would like to know how to make such a thing, with photo by photo how to. I posted it on Sarah's blog so you can check it out if you would like.

St George!!!

I just got back from Sunny St George and it was 'Oh So Nice'.
It wasn't as warm as I would have liked it to be at first, but it warmed right up. The last day was 'Amazing' and we almost didn't leave. I went down with my roommates Syd and Dani, and we met up with Syd's sister Paige and 4 of her friends and roommates. We stayed in their Grandparents condo.

It was not the same kind of St George that I remember from my childhood. It was definitely a 'Girls Trip'. None of this playing football at the Sand Dunes, golfing, or frisbee at the park with my Brothers. There was a lot of hanging out at the pool, chick flicks, and Diet Coke. I am not complaining though it was really fun. Here are some pictures to document our time.

Syd and I on the Balcony.

Dani, Syd, and I. Name a piece of junk food and we had it. This is a essential part of the girls weekend.

Shayla, Kim, Kristen, Syd, Paige, Dani, Mckenna in the hot tub.

Dani at the pool. (I just learned out how to do this with my camera I was pretty excited about it)

Shayla, Kim and Paige at the waterfall. I almost fell into the pool right after I took this picture and I had like 3 camera's with me. That would have been horrible.

Now I would like to tell you something that I figured out while on this trip. I am not as young as I used to be. I know that some will laugh at this, but hear me out. I was the oldest one there. These girls stayed up until like 4 or 5 in the morning...while I slept in the corner. By the 3rd night I was literally wasted! I was acting like a drunk person and I couldn't function, cause I had tried so hard to stay awake with them the first couple of nights. Those of you who laughed this is a common sign that someone is getting older. I used to be able to stay up all night without trouble.

Anyway moving on while I am still kind of young. One night when the younger girls met up with some younger guy friends going to Dixie. Syd, Dani and I decided to have some grown up fun....we went and gambled in Mesquite.

It was really fun. I know it is not the most ideal thing to do on conference weekend, but it was fun. We played poker on the Nickel Slots. I met this older gentleman who gave me some pretty good tips and we all ended up winning something.

Here is Syd with her big win.

Dani with her big win. The order of these pictures is significant. The order of who won the most. I am not braggin' or anything, but I won the most....that was a total brag, don't be fooled.

This is me kissing my machine. My highest win was $40.00! Which is exciting cause come on I was playing the Nickel Slots. I also won $15.00 and $20.00 almost all of which I promptly lost. I put $20.00 in and I walked away with $40+ which I am going to call a pretty successful trip to the Casino....for me anyway, I am not much of a high roller. We went for dinner after all the big wins. I didn't win enough to buy everyone's dinner sadly enough.

Syd, Kim, and Shayla

Dani, Me, and Syd

This was a great trip and it was all thanks to these Sisters. Thanks so much Syd and Paige!

I want to go back so badly. I think that Syd has the itch too, so I may be able to sweet talk her into doing it again.
