Sydney, who is one of my roommates , just had a Birthday! Let me tell you that she is getting up there a whapping 24!

We celebrated for days, over a 4 day period, to be precise. We went to dinner, a movie, shopping, ice cream, and we played some serious MASH.

For those of you who don't know the game MASH, flashback with me to Jr high. You pick 4 things for each category (future husbands, jobs, places to live, # of children, pets, etc) and then you go through a very high tech and fail proof process of elimination. Then ~tada~ you have your future life all planned out. I am looking forward to marrying David Cook, and after a honeymoon to the Moon, we will reside in Narnia in a trailer, with our 20 children, talking mice, and my flying broom. It will be very exciting!

Melissa and I felt like it would be a good way to take Sydney's mind off the fact that she was turning one year older and wiser too.

So anyway this one is to you. Happy Birthday Sydney!

Oh What a Beautiful Sunset

I have always been someone who appreciates a good sunset.

And I saw an AMAZING one the other day.

I was driving east and I said to myself 'Self, why are those mountains pink?' I turned around and one of the greatest sunsets I had ever beheld was staring me in the face. It was Incredible! I stopped and just sat a looked at it. Sadly I didn't have my camera (which is weird cause I usually have it with me just for times like these) but I have been hoping for another one. I have been checking daily and there have been nothing as grand, but there have been some pretty good ones.

Here are some honorable mentions.
These times I did have my camera.

I just wanted to share.

A Valentines Day Tribute

Since I am a single person and don't have a significant other to roast on this upcoming holiday (that being Valentines Day). I have been thinking about the great couples that I know and love. My Parents are a good example of a great couple. Nate and Sarah another great example of a good couple. But the greatest example that I have had are my Grandma and Grandpa.

I have been reading their journals these last couple of weeks, because both recently passed away and so I wanted to go through some of their memories. As a result of this I have been thinking about them a lot. Let me first do a little tribute to each, because they deserve the praise and I want to tell you how great they are.

I am here to tell you that I had the best Grandparents that a girl could ask for.

Grandpa Frank
Grandpa Frank was not only a good looking guy. He was a hard worker who loved his garden. He loved being with family and loved the outdoors. Both of which, is a love that I share with him. He was laid back and never got too worked up over anything. I never heard him say a mean thing about anyone. He had a great laugh and some real good one liners. I loved the way that he talked too (this one might be weird, but he had a way of saying things, like maybe the tone of his voice or the intonation, I don't know, I just can't seem to explain, but I loved it).
He was the BEST!

Grandma Relda
Grandma Relda was a character to say the least. She was cheeky, witty, and quick. She was so funny, always quick to laugh, and always good for a zinger. She was also one of the smartest people I know. She was very creative and crafty and I am happy to say that I got that from her. She taught me how to crochet and knit. Also I loved snuggling up to her, she was soft and warm.
She was just AMAZING!

There is a run down of them as individuals. But they were quite the couple. I am very grateful for the example that they set for me of what a couple should be. They were always best when they were together. They were married for 68 years and when it came to leaving this world they couldn't stay apart too long (3 months almost to the day). Through good times and bad, for better for worse, they were there for each other. They were awesome and I think anyone in my family would agree that they are a great couple to look up to.
So here is my Valentines Day Tribute to a great couple. Thanks for the example G&G.

My Trip to the Sunny South

Well I recently took a trip down to Sunny Arizona with my family, to visit some family. Let me just say that it was SO WARM!!! I really would like to go back there and bathe in the sun, but alas I am here in Utah with a freshly fallen snow.

It was a great trip we got to play Golf, Ultimate Frisbee and Football.
Here is a photo of the athletes.
We also went to this really awesome restaurant called Pinnacle Peak Patio. I am of the firm belief that there should be one on these everywhere. It was so much fun. If there is one in Northern Utah I would like to hear about it. It is a steakhouse with sawdust on the floor, and if you wear a tie they cut it right off
A example of the ties they have cut off. The whole place is full of them. all over the ceiling.
Also if you happen to order a steak that is well done you get a special suprise...
Which I learned the hard way.

But the trip was awesome. I wish it would have been longer, cause we had a lot of fun and (again) the warmth was delightful.

On the way home we stopped off at the Grand Canyon. Which I always thought that I have been to and I have probably told people that I have been there...but I hadn't. Not to worry, I am no longer a liar. I have been there, I have proof.
There I am at the Grand Canyon (at sunrise). Let me tell you, it was sure Grand.
It was really awesome.
One last picture just cause I think it is cool.

And there you have it. My winter trip to Arizona. It warms me up just thinking about it.

Well here it goes....
I am very new to this blog thing so be kind.
So there I was talking with some friends at a baby shower and they were all talking about their blogging experiences. I myself have never considered one because I am single and lead a pretty boring life. However, one friend said that she uses it cause it is like a journal. Which is something that I always wish I was better at but am horrendous. So I thought I would try this out and see how it works. I would not even be broken up if no one reads it. It is just for me. So here it goes...
